Mike Antolic – Head Coach Mike: "Throughout my gymnastics travels, I have had the fortune to train with, be coached by, and mentored, under numerous and Olympic team members from several different countries. I have taken all of my lessons and advice seriously, and have treated our sport as a craft. I am very excited to begin a new journey at First Class Gymnastics." Christie Blondek – Coach / Manager Christie has been involved in gymnastics and dance ever since she was 3 years old. Christie became a competitive gymnast at a young age and made it all the way up to level 8. In her career as a competitive gymnast she competed and placed in gymnastics meets across Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey. She also attended numerous State Championship Gymnastics Meets and two Regional Competitions, where she medaled on individual events, all-around, and was awarded State Champion. After graduating high school, Christie went on to become a Division I cheerleader at the University of Pittsburgh. As a University of Pittsburgh cheerleader she cheered on the Panthers at home and away football and basketball games, Men and Women’s NCAA Tournaments, Men and Women Big East Tournaments, Bowl games, volleyball matches, swimming meets, wrestling matches, and soccer games. Christie also competed in 4 National Cheerleading Association competitions that are held annually in Daytona, Florida. During her career as a cheerleader she also worked for Elite Cheerleading. This company holds 3-day cheerleading camps for high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and competition cheerleading squads around the United States. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s in Health and Physical Activity and a Certificate in American Sign Language, Christie held a summer job at Woodward at Copper. Woodward at Copper is a freeskiing, snowboarding, skateboarding and cheerleading camp in Copper Mountain, Colorado. She was hired as a cheerleading coach and counselor, but also was a counselor for skiers and snowboarders that attended the camp. Now that Christie is back home she is currently pursuing her dream of becoming a Physician Assistant and applying to graduate schools across the country, substitute teaching at the Scranton School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, volunteering at Cancertacular (a local non-profit organization that serves pediatric cancer victims and their families in NEPA), and coaching at and managing First Class Gymnastics. She is a USA gymnastics member as well as being CPR and USAG Safety Certified. Allison Phillips – Coach / Office Personnel Allison started taking gymnastics at the age of 6. She continued to take gymnastics until her junior year of high school. After high school she joined the Marywood Pacer's basketball cheerleading squad her freshmen year of college. She is currently majoring in Exercise Science and Social Science, and has made the Dean's List 3 years in a row. Allison is also in her 6th year working at St Joseph's Center. She is a USA gymnastics member as well as being CPR and USAG Safety Certified. She also holds a certificate for Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction; aquired from USA Gymnastics University. She has both a son and a daughter, both who take classes at FCG. Allison is our Future Stars and Tiny Tumblers Coach. Nikki Wharton – Coach Nikki has been involved with gymnastics competitively and non-competitvely for 14 years. She started taking gymnastics at age 3. When she competed for First CLass Gymnastics she won the 2010 Level 8 State championship title and the 2010 Level 8 Regional championship title. She also helped the 2010 Level 8 PA team win 1st place regional team. Nikki has been coaching gymnastics for the past two years and is currently the head coach of our Rec- Team. Nikki is CPR and USAG Safety Certified. Tom Havenstrite – Coach Tom has been involved in a wide range of sports over many years. He has coached mny sports including baseball, soccer, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and gymnastics. He has been coaching gymnastics since 2008. He been in charge of the boys program and member of the USA gymnastics since 2010. Coach Tom is also a Crossfit level one instructor and a level one PSIA ski instructor. He has also been running the baseball and adult conditioning programs for the past three years. When not at the gym his activities includes hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, running, adventure racing, and any physical activity. Tom is CPR and USAG Safety Certified. Brittni Smith – Coach Brittni Smith started at Keystone Gymnastics when she was 6 years old, she competed for 3 years. She then stopped at the age of 12 to start her career as a cheerleader at La Salle Academy. After she graduated from LaSalle, she went to Bishop O' Hara where she was Junior Varsity cheerleading captain in her freshmen year. That year she received the UCA All Star Award and cheered in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. In her sophomore year on the varsity squad, she received the NCA All Star Award. In her senior year, she was varsity captain and received the UCA All Star Award once again. In her freshmen year of college, she was a cheerleader for the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Pioneers Arena Football League. During her sophomore year, she cheered for The University of Scranton. She is currently a senior, with a major in psychology and minor in counseling. Brittni is also a USAG safety certified, as well as certified in CPR/AED and First Aid. Brittni coaches Junior and Premeire Flippers, as well as Cheer-Tumbling and Open Gym. Carina Levis – Coach Carina was first introduced to gymnastics at the age of six. She quickly fell in love with the sport and began competing when she was just seven years old. She continued to compete at the USA level until the age of eleven as a level seven gymnast. However, she continued to do gymnastics recreationally well into her teens and never lost touch with the sport. She began coaching in 2005 at the age of eighteen. When not in the gym, Carina pursues her higher education in the field of social science, enjoys traveling, yoga, and horseback riding, and participates in a wide variety of volunteer work with several local and international organizations. Carina is a USAG safety certified, as well as being certified in First Aid and CPR. Carina coaches Junior and Premiere Flippers, as well as being one of our Open Gym Coaches. |
